Primary Courses for Sept 2026
PROGRAMMES FOR SEPTEMBER 2026 ENTRY WILL OPEN IN EARLY OCTOBER
All information for courses starting in September 2026 will be uploaded here and to the DfE website during the first half of September. Most courses will remain as they were this year so do have a look and the programme documents for 2025 in the meantime.
CHOOSING YOUR SCHOOL
Unlike many providers, we enable you to choose your preferred main host school (or schools) at application. We provide information about our schools to help you decide which places to apply for. Each school interviews independently but we control the process centrally and operate a referral system -see more information in the course documents. Once you have chosen your course, simply email us with a list of your 3 preferred choices of school in descending order and we will send your application on to the schools for shortlisting.
PRIMARY BURSARIES
While the DfE offers no bursaries on unsalaried primary courses, many of our schools offer bursaries of their own to successful candidates offered a place on the course (£2,000 - £10,000).
SEARCHING FOR COURSES NATIONALLY
You can compare courses from different providers and see what's available near where you live, on the DfE portal FIND Postgraduate Teacher Training Courses. Our own courses are included in this portal but its still easier to see our vacancies and download the course information document from our vacancies tab. You could use the FIND portal perhaps to compare our courses to those offered by others.
NEED HELP?
We run a 'live' presentation and Q&A session every fortnight in term time, about getting into teaching. This is very detailed and candidates have found it useful - see tab on left to sign up for one of our sessions.
Otherwise, in term time please email any queries to Pippa Currey PCurrey@sacredh.lbhf.sch.uk or call her on 0208 748 7600 x466
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Please note: we are unable to accept applications from overseas students unless they are already in the country because you would need to interview in person at the school. You would also be subject to overseas fees which are considerably higher that UK fees (around £18,000) and you would need to prove you have the financial means to support yourself during your training year.
