When would the trainee be in school

UNSALARIED PRIMARY

PGCE(M)+QTS with St Marys (KS1/KS2)

Trainee attends all university PGCE lectures as if they were doing the university ‘core’ PGCE.

 Half Termly Overview

 Autumn 1

 At University full time.

 Autumn 2

 Assessed block practice 1 for 8 weeks at host school (or 2nd placement  school)

 Spring 1

 At host school for enhancement period for  4 weeks

 Spring 2

 At University full time

 Summer 1

 Assessed block practice 2 for 11 week at host school (or 2nd placement  school)

 Summer 2

 Assessed block practice 2  continued

 

PGCE(M)+QTS with Roehampton (KS1/KS2 or FS/KS1 or ‘with maths’)

Trainee attends some university lectures + 12-15 Fox twilights + approx. 4 outstanding teaching days.

 Half Termly Overview Roehampton

 Autumn 1

 At host school but in university 1 ½ days per week

 Autumn 2

 Second placement school

 Spring 1

 In host school but at university 1 ½ days per week

 Spring 2

 Host school (2 x 1 ½ university days across the half term)

 Summer 1

 Host school (1 ½ university days across the half term)

 Summer 2

 Host school (1 university day across the half term)

Earlier finish date of early July when compared to salaried route. Total university days: 21

 

SALARIED PRIMARY

QTS WITH ST MARY’S

The trainee attends 13 days at university across the year on a Monday.  They are with you at the host school for all other time other than the second school placement which is approx. 6 weeks post Feb half term up to the Easter holidays.

PGCE(M) +QTS WITH ROEHAMPTON

 Half Termly Overview Roehampton, same as for unsalaried, total uni days: 21

 Autumn 1

 At host school but in university 1 ½ days per week

 Autumn 2

 Second placement school

 Spring 1

 In host school but at university 1 ½ days per week

 Spring 2

 Host school (2 x 1 ½ university days across the half term)

 Summer 1

 Host school (1 ½ university days across the half term)
